Hello Listers, Here are the answers to my question. Thanks to Oliver, Nanci, Mario, and Sani. I really appreciate you input particularly to Oliver who had a detail explaination about symbols. Cheer! In this case its easy: You can give the Symbol a static rotation by typing in an Angle in the Symbol-window or you can create a field in the Attribute-Table (type number) where you enter an angle for each feature. In this case you have to choose this field as rotation field in the legend-editor by clicking the ADVANCED-Button in the lower left corner. 2) You have a composite Symbol This means it has at least two layers (forground and background). In this case you can not rotate them! A workaround is to use the layers as simple Symbols and give the Theme two or more Legends, one for each Layer. For example: You want to use an triangle with a black outline and a colored area which is created from the ESRI Geometric Symbols-Font (such a Symbol is in the default-palette: #10). You can convert the font to symbols in the symbolwindow by choosing the font and clicking CREATE MARKER at the bottom of the "symbolwindow". Then you can use the outline of the triangle as legend of the top theme and the area of the Symbol as Legend for the bottom-theme (by the way: now you can also change the color of the outline which is not possible if you use the composed symbol). Now choose the rotation as described in 1) If there are any questions about this feel free to contact me. Hope you can understand my bad english at all. Regards, Mario Crociata **************************************************************************** *********** Dear Nelson, In AV View,go to the "Graphics" menu. Select "Properties". Specify your "Rotation Angle" and click "OK". Hope this helps. Sani **************************************************************************** ************* I think that in the basic, default point symbol pallette that comes up, the first several symbols (triangles, squares, hexagons, etc) cannot be rotated. But the others can be rotated. You may just have to keep clicking on different symbols and see which ones will allow you to enter a rotation angle. Hope this helps! Nanci
